Re: Can ubcd help me fix my computer?
I'm more an Ubuntu (linux) guy, but I think that parted magic (on UBCD 5) should be able to do the same. Try looking up "photorec", which is part of the "testdisk" package that if i remember correctly is on parted magic. However, if your filesystem is not corrupted, avoid using p...

Re: How to make my computer work again!!
Maybe try making a new boot cd? Also make sure that ur BIOS is set to boot from cd first. Otherwise I'm not sure... The booting problem sounds like something with the MBR (because you can get past the BIOS but not further into windows). Apparently some viruses target your mbr to make ur pc unbootabl...

For some reason (im using syslinux 3.63 i think) when i boot i just get a boot: prompt, and i don't know what to enter there to get the syslinux menu(s). It u...

ubcd usb stick from linux
i would like to install ubcd onto my 2gb memory stick. i only run ubuntu 9.04 (linux), and know my way around the terminal a bit. i also would like to do this manually (so a .bat file doesn't do it for me cuz i want to learn and maybe use the same procedure later for other things).
thx
